Award-winning solo performer Danielle Pinnock (CBS's Young Sheldon) and Waltzing Mechanics artistic director Thomas Murray paired up for Body/Courage (originally called The Body Image Project), a one woman show sourced from worldwide interviews Pinnock conducted.
Recommended by the Chicago Reader as a "tremendous feat in acting," this production explored what it means to grow up in an "unpopular" body, how disability impacts self-image, and how the mirror does not reflect our inner truth. Plus size actor Danielle Pinnock morphed into these real life stories with ease and challenged perceptions on what it means to beautiful.
Premiere co-produced by Waltzing Mechanics and Rivendell Theatre Ensemble
Workshop performances with Chicago Fringe Festival (Fringe Choice Award), MPAACT Solo Jams, Congo Square Theatre, and the Greenhouse Theater Center
